The One Doctrine Every Lineage Shares
Ask the streams what actually happens in healing and their vocabularies differ — universal energy, divine light, the Force, qi emitted, grace descending. Ask them what the healer is, and they answer as one: a channel. Not a battery, not a source, not a hero. The Reiki stream names itself for universal energy guided through the practitioner; the Johrei stream raises a palm for divine light to pass; the Sufi healer calls himself the channel of God's energy; the New Thought treatment insists the practitioner's realization, not effort, does the work; the esoteric schools say the soul is the true healer and the practitioner merely clears its way.
This unanimity is Charon's first protection for you. If the power were yours, every session would spend you, every failure would accuse you, and every success would inflate you. Because it is not yours, the work asks of you exactly what Tiers 1 and 2 built: an open way, a clean instrument, and the humility of a riverbed.
The Pathway of the Current
The traditions map the current's route through the healer with striking agreement. It enters from above — the crown, in the chakra map — and from below, the earth current gathered by the grounding you have practiced since Tier 1. The two meet and are steadied in the heart, which every stream makes the true center of the work; from the heart the current flows down the arms, along the channels you mapped in Tier 1, and pools in the palms — which is why every culture's healers, from the laying-on of hands to the raised palm of Johrei to the Taoist emission of qi, work through the hands.
Feel the map in your own practice this week: the sensing exercises from Tier 1, done now with attention on the route — crown, heart, arms, palms — rather than the palms alone. Most students feel the difference within days: the hands stop being the place where something happens and become the place where something arrives.
The Depletion Test
Here is the doctrine's practical teeth. A channel passing a current it does not own should end a session clear, warm, even brightened. If you end sessions drained, heavy, or carrying the other's mood, the tradition's diagnosis is precise: you were not channeling, you were giving — pushing your own vitality, or absorbing theirs — and one of the foundations has slipped: grounding lost, boundary blurred, or the helper's ego quietly taking the source's place. Depletion is not a badge of compassion. It is the instrument reporting a fault, and Module 4 is its repair manual.
